Little ponds and lakes are non existent or very low, five state parks have closed in New Mexico due to low water in the lakes. Ranchers are having trouble getting water for their cattle. Farmers have not been able to plant, unless they’ve had irrigation. On top of that we have fires burning in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada. People have been evacuated from towns where the fires are spreading. Lake mead which is a reservoir on the border between Arizona and Nevada is it an all time low. It provides water for cities and people, for agricultural use, for Native Americans, and makes hydroelectric power. They’re down 25% on making power because the water flow is not strong enough. I hate to think ahead of all the people that won’t have water if this continues through the summer. A disaster of epic proportions is on the horizon.
In the Bible I think of two places where the rain is mentioned:
Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
Deu 28:12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the RAIN unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be NO RAIN
Are all these troubles or judgments from the Lord? No doubt some problems are caused by humans. But the rain? Says in Job that God controls the Rain.
Job 38:25 Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
Job 38:26 To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
Job 38:27 To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
Job 38:28 Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
Just thinking/ praying/ repenting. Shouldn’t this problems cause us to fall on our knees and ask for God’s help?
