   Thank you for the two-part messages on the martial arts. As a Christian I was being seduced back into them under the guise that it can be done for sport or merely self-defense. My profession is not law enforcement, so there is no imperative that I learn them. After praying and listening to the messages, I was reminded of the occult activities in which I engaged when I was steeped in the arts as a teen. I remember quite vividly how I was divining to gain glimpses of what my opponent would do and how I could project fear into an opponent through my eyes.

   The Holy Spirit also began to show me how practicing the arts was influencing my everyday thoughts and personality. I did not realize the extent to which I was itching to use the fighting techniques that I had learned… to kill another person. I did not realize that I was lying to myself that I would call it self-defense, but it would have actually been pre-meditated murder. I shunned ninjutsu because of its overt teachings on how to murder, but was more ecclectic in selecting techniques from other systems to form my own murderous arsenal. I used to aspire to be a “hired gun”– a walking weapon, lethal from head to toe with or without a weapon.

   I am grateful for the messages. Thank you. About one month ago, I have renounced my participation in the martial arts, I no longer follow UFC or WWE. I refuse to watch judo, boxing, or anything that involves armed or unarmed combat (except maybe the occasional war movie). I am filling that void in my personality with greater consecration unto the Lord by listening to sermons and practicing more apologetics before an unbelieving world.

   Final note: an adversary on my job is no longer the walking target practice in my mind for my fighting abilities. I am training my mind to pray for his salvation when I see him. No longer do I pray (secretly) for opportunity to slay him with my bare hands. The martial arts is about power over other people and gaining any kind of physical advantage to subdue him. To God be the glory, that I never lived out my murderous fantasies, nor will I ever glorify the satanic forces involved in the martial arts, by God’s grace.

   If I may add one note to my previous comment about the sermons on the martial arts:

   When I used to watch the UFC’s show “The Ultimate Fighter,” I noticed that, in addition to portraits of the top fighters lining the walls of the living quarters of the aspiring pugilists, there were paintings of demon-like creatures. At that point, I realized that if the UFC/TUF was purely about a sport, then why would there need to be demon-like depictions on their walls?

   It is also widely known that the bowing rituals in most arts are to idols. Ungodliness, if not anti-godliness is deeply ingrained into the martial arts. The sport versions of the martial arts may not be as overt in their counterfeit religiosity, but they definitely encourage faith in one’s own athletic prowess and the covetousness of the sport’s top prize. The lifestyle is oriented solely around the bodily exercise to gain advantage. Add big prize money contracts into the mix and many athletes have sold their souls. (Maybe even some professional athletes who are professed Christians.)

   Martial arts used for law enforcement and military purposes, I believe, if God permits the Christian to have either as a career, would require His grace upon the practitioner so that he/she may not be overtaken in the idolatries that would draw them away from Him. (My opinion.)

   Thanks again, Dr. Johnson, for bringing attention to the martial arts as an activity that Christians should mainly avoid.

   You have touched upon many important topics that are not addressed in the body of Christ. If I may suggest a topic, you may want to consider examining the messages being communicated by comic book (particularly, Marvel and DC) and cartoon characters, contemporary or historic. I think you will find a lot of subversive, occult influences that have been neatly packaged into the heroic characters as well as the villains. (Consider X-Men’s Storm: is she not using witchcraft to control natural forces? Professor X uses mind control powers.)

   Please consider preaching on such a topic. Thanks again.

Can you please do a study on the World Mission Society Church of God cult who believe in “God the Mother” or “Mother God” I have been approached by these people at least 5 times here in NYC being that they have a church in New Jersey and have challenged their beliefs many times. They believe that salvation no longer comes through Christ because “we are no longer in age of Christ” but in the “age of the Holy Spirit” and in this “age of the Holy Spirit” according to them, salvation comes through “Mother God”.

   My comment is to Mary Beths comment. I dont know how knowlegable you are of the Word of God but Scott Johnsons teachings are each and every one lined up with the true word of God, I encourage you to search the scriptures and pray for the Lord Jesus Christ to remove the scales from your eyes and you will then see the truth. I have a brother that is catholic and he is so very decieved and he gets very angry when someone trys to share with him the truth and that is what I perceive coming from your angry message as well. Dr. Scott Johnson is called by God to be a watchman, if you will look that up in the Bible in Ezekiel 33:1-9, Jeremiah 51:12, and most of all Isaiah 62:6 – The Lord sets up the watchmen and they are not to be silent.
   I follow along with each one of Scott Johnsons teachings available in PDF and use my bible along with it, I have not to this day found any lies.

   For the comment on CPS, in my past I had very close friends who had horrible encounters with CPS they operate in gastapo format – horrible people.

   I can witness to you in regards to christian rock music, when the Holy Spirit abides within you and you are operating in discernment you will not want to listen to anything that has the evil rock beat to it – very important scripture for you to read and meditate on please:

   1 Corinthians 10:21 – Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and the table of devils.

   You must choose this day whom you will serve – Jesus Christ or the devil – thats the only two choices – anything with rock music or rock beat is of the devil because it does not glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and there are a myriad of scriptures pertaining to how music should Glorify the Lord throughout the Bible.

   Jesus said for us to come out and be ye seperate – King James Bible 2 Corinthians 6:17
   Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

   I pray you find the truth – please seek help from the Lord Jesus Christ.

    (Psalm 33:4)
    Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
    (John 17:17)

    Please find you a King James Bible and follow along with any of Dr. Johnson’s teachings.
    When you find a conflict note it with chapter and verse and then report back with some evidence.
    Dr. Johnson is a watchman and he speaks the truth. I have followed his teachings and compared to scripture and I can say he speaks only the truth. It is a shame that many people can not handle the truth!!
    They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.

    I have listened to Dr. Scott for several years. I know you are not suppose to put your trust in man, idolatry and all of that. But this man has taught me more than anyone or anything. ( through the Holy Spirit working within him) I was born and raised Catholic, went to Pentecostal church for 5 years and sadly I’m not going to church right now. Why…Because there are very few – if any- churches that are speaking the truth in my area. KJV only. The pastors are clueless when it comes to real truth. (Bible versions, 501c3, etc) People don’t want truth. Folks do yourselves a favor, listen to this man and tell others. Anyway.. I can’t thank Dr. Scott Johnson enough. God Bless you brother.     I’m searching for more sound doctrine, because I need it.
    I read a verse in 2 Timothy 4:3,4 “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”
    When I look around, just in my everyday life, I see this happening. There are those who claim to know Jesus Christ, that are merely following a sensational teaching. It’s as if when I look around it’s everywhere.
    It did not see it during the Lakeland Revival, but I know now that Todd Bentley persues very selfish desires.
    I’m hungry for God’s pure word, and others like me I’m sure are too. They just need to find there way. They need help to get away from the cult like false religion.

    thank you for being back Scott, i really missed you sermon. to know that i have such brothers and sisters in Christ, what a gift, i am watching from Norway, i am on a project of writing a four volume books series, presenting our best united work to the Norwegian people “separated by their language barrier”- making the secret society play socialistic utopia lie so alive in every world desiring heart here in the riches country of the world per cap. I have listen to many many true christian watchmen i love them all, and Scott is definitively worth our brotherly hearth support for his work. my story is to long here, but because of so many brave men that the Lord has risen for himself I too got guided and supported in those times in the valley of the shadow, thank you all.

    Whereas I agree to an extend that certain jogic practices are occultic, in the sense that they are connected directly to the spirit world, I must disagree in case of martial arts, at least the external ones. It is supperstition to dislike and “come out of” anything just because the culture that created it was not based on Christianity (no real “Christian nation” is possible, IMO, so “based on”). MAs, at least external ones, are to a great extend secular and practice oriented, and whereas there are certain practices that might lead one to mediumship and similar states, they are usually advanced and optional. If you really want to be careful, chose one of the modern MAs, like Kraf Maga or Musado and you can be almost certain there is nothing involved. Note. Breath control techniques in themselves are not occultic or mediumic unless you use tham in that way. Most of those arts don’t even use the much feared techniques named for pagan gods or animal spirits that Scott Johnson was so adamant to point out.
    Lastly, it is good to notice that there is more occultism present in television, entertainment, and even commercials and that MAs can to an extend add to a person’s overal fitness and skillfulness in life.

    As for the techniques for murder, I would say that if you got attacked by a gang of drunks, you might allow them to hit you, but I would be hard pressed to allow harm to come to friends or familly. Plus, it is a practical exercise.

    He did have a podcast, not sure if it’s still there or not, but try typing in contendingfortruth.com (all one word and with the “.com”) in the podcast section. If you can’t find it, you can always save them to a folder and sync it with your iPod/iPhone.

    If you don’t know how to do that, there here ya go:
    Click the message you want to save, and save it to a specific folder.
    Once a message/messages have been downloaded, plug in your device.
    Open the folder you saved the message to.
    Highlight the message/messages that you saved.
    Drag and drop them to the far left side of the iTunes page where your device is listed, or where the library is listed.
    Sync again, and voilà!
    That’s what I do, and it works great!

    Telling the truth from the pulpits and don’t look first what the people or the authorities say.That is mainly a matter of money first and comfort.How often do we Christians question our lifestyle our involvement and influence in the world?I am afraid most of us do not at all.
    We are consuming all the amusements certain people have established and expect again a preaching leaving all the filth, dirt and lies around us out.Christianity has never done more compromises than nowadays.

    So Mary Beth….. You get paid to love people. The Word of God is truth so when it speaks in detail about a matter and you reject it. You are rejecting truth. Gods Word says,”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee and thou shall be a priest unto me no more.
    CPS is a great idea but ultimately the roots are corrupted. The Bible says,”If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do”.

For when I wanted Milk, you gave me meat and shoved it down my mounts with the word of God which I could not refuse. As far as a Christian you are my hero because of your Godliness and Love of Truth, for in a Day of Apostasy you are Contending for the Truth that was once Delivered unto the Saints. As a 16 year old, you are a model I would not mind growing into.

    Just kidding, actually I put my faith in the Word of God, Scott just happens to line right up with it. Where I have thought him wrong, I prayed and fasted. I then turned to the Bible and found he is not wrong at all. My opinion doesn’t count, and if it did then I would still trust Jesus first. Scott does a wonderful job pointing out things that are true. May you all never be deceived by the works of satan, they are many, and convincing…

    Thank you Scott if you have time to read this, for all your teachings. Though I am sure you may be wrong sometimes, I can’t find where…

    I’m still chuckling over your story of Rev. Leroy Jenkins! Being in the charasmatic movement for thirty plus years I could relate so well. I’ve seen it all gold teeth, gold dust and turett’s style worship services. O how the word of God is every thing in this crazy world! Please keep doing what you do!!!!!     Just wanted to say a million thank you’s to you for being a major contributor to my recent accepting of god =). You are so wise and I look foward to all your future teachings. With that said, I wanted to point out something that I thought might be of some significance. I listened to your current events bible study today for 2/12/2012. I found it worth noting that in the first section where you talked about the pagan history of valentines day they used a “thong” (or whip) called a “februa” (feb-ru-a). Now wouldn’t “februa” be a root word of the month February? Now here’s the correlation that I made from this. Februa=February. February=Black History Month. Now weren’t the african slaves always depicted to be whipped back in the slave days?!?! I found this to not be a simply coincidence. Wouldn’t it make sense to give these “non worthy slaves” the reject month on the calendar that part of the word literally translates to WHIP??? I don’t think so. Anyways, you have shared so much knowledge with me I felt compelled to possibly share some with you. Thanks and god bless!

    Hello Pastor,
    I’m about to listen to your sermon on the “End Time Current Events: 3-25-12–Parts 2″ and thought I would drop you this comment. Along with the aborted fetus cells being used as flavorings in grocery stores, are you aware of the “other white meat” being sold in these same stores?

    “The other white meat” as it’s termed from the geneticist who created this food source is actually Human DNA spliced into pigs. That’s right, pigs nowadays on most of these farms are spliced with Human DNA. Ever notice in the 1990′s how the shift in pork meats, like pork chops, suddenly became larger and instead of the cooked meat actually being pink in color, the meat is now white in color?

    The reason why pork meats sold in stores is white after cooking is because Human meat turns white after cooking whereas pure pig or pork meat will remain pink. You may find it useful to research this and pass this information along to others as well. I find this all truly disgusting myself. These freaks are trying to turn everyone into cannibals. Anyway, I try to avoid meat products altogether, but I would DEFINITELY avoid pork products unless you enjoy eating Human meat.

    You have allot of interesting info on your website. i have a little interesting info for you to consider. I’ve never really considered my earth bound parents to be my creators. Yes they were involved in the creation of my body but not the spirit that inhabits this body. Well i’ve been thinking, which is often a dangerous thing. What came to mind was this mixing of animal and human DNA. it seems to me that when God creates a spirit he creates it with a genetic key that gives that spirit access to one particular body. When you mix animal and human DNA whats created is an abomination with a mixed up DNA pattern. Nothing that God creates has this genetic pattern so no spirit of God can inhabit a hybrid. But these hybrids are perfect for a demon to move into. Whats going to happen to Satan at the end of this mess, His domain goes away there is no place for him to go but the pit. So his plan is to hijack our bodies. Think about this!!

    I would like to touch on the subject of martial arts. The arts as it’s called can be beneficial when you’re in a situation to defend oneself or a loved one from harm, but it can;t never be a true sport because of its ability to either kill or injured a person. The systems you want to avoid are the esoteric styles or the internal styles that requires a lot meditation or breathing techniques. Why you ask? The reason is that it puts you in yogic state already, and as believers we should already know not to play around with yoga. If you must study it then you should fast and pray to God for guidance on the issue. The known styles are tai chi, hsing-i, pa gua, aikido, nin-jutsu, daito-ryu, bando monk system (last style i studied) these styles are not the only ones because there are too many to name but some of these i listed you have heard of them and their attributes.
    Allow me to explain the monk system, the system originated in Burma ( Myanmar ) and it has its roots from India and Tibet. These two regions produced some of the worlds most dangerous fighting system know. We learn the strikes, blocks, parry, kicks, punches, take-downs and footwork. The breathing exercises is YOGA I REPEAT “BREATHING EXERCISES IS A FORM OF YOGA” and you can include meditation ( as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ we should only meditate on the word of God only). As I trained faithfully I developed several deadly abilities within a short period of time. The first one was the ability to read my opponent moves and locate any prior injury you might have and attack the injured area. How you ask? Science have showed that humans generate an electric-magnetic field or aura and i was able to mix my aura with my opponents and it told me what I needed to know to win the fight quickly. The second ability is that I knew all of the pressure points and the cycles the pressure points has. For example at a certain hour it would auspicious to strike you that area now and multiple pressure strikes. When I first realized this i had a calm confidence about myself because anyone facing me was at a extreme disadvantage. When I stopped practicing I guess the demonic spirits was not happy with my decision and my life was a roller coaster ride (hind sight view of the past) I finally gave my life to the Lord and stop doing the back-slide express and dove in head first without checking Chris how deep the water. I guess that’s faith is all about.

    This is my testimonial for all my brothers and sisters in Christ. Well it has been just about 10 years since I practice the style and it’s unfortunate that I still remember pressure points and its combinations and the techniques, but I don’t use them to lift my pride but to promote the agenda of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Final statement, before you decide to study any combat art; first you should study the history of the style and culture that should give you an better understanding of the system and stay away from internal styles ( I explained in my personal story of why you should avoid it) and pray and fast to God to give you insight on the matter.

    Thank you Dr. Johnson for the Debunking of the shroud of Turin teaching. For quite some time now I’ve been listening to L.A. Marzulli and his take on the shrouds authenticity. I asked The Lord to show me once and for all if you were a real man of God, or a self-absorbed know-it-all, that did nothing but criticize. Boy after hearing you teach about the shrouds obvious impossibility as the burial cloth of our Lord? I realized that just TODAY I had read the EXACT same passages in my KJB! I’m not a believer in synchronicity. I am a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. I actually said before I searched for what might be my last time hearing you, for God to lead me in the truth.
